Psychological Counseling
Psychological counseling services will be available on request to the public safety department's staff and families, or others referred by the department. These services will routinely be provided in our offices. Our office phone provides a cell phone number of the on-call staff for after-hours availability.
Counseling services will be confidential as prescribed by all applicable state and federal laws. Counseling notes will be maintained by Lehman & Associates at their offices. If counseling services (not fitness for duty evaluations) are mandated by the department, Lehman & Associates will only provide confirmation of attendance and whether the person is complying with the treatment plan. The content of the treatment plan will not be shared. However, any risk of violence or unfitness for duty will be reported. The client will be clearly informed of this caveat to the confidentiality agreement.
All counseling services will be provided in accordance with generally accepted clinical standards and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
