Laura McCracken, Ph.D.
Dr. Laura McCracken is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (UTSW). Dr. McCracken completed a post-doctoral fellowship in child clinical psychology at Children's Medical Center of Dallas, where she specialized in the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with various psychiatric disorders, including those with a history of trauma and abuse. Dr. McCracken worked for the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center (DCAC) where she provided psychological services for abused children and their families, including individual psychotherapy, play therapy, family therapy, psychological assessment and evaluation, and crisis management. She regularly consulted and communicated with Child Protective Services, the Dallas Police Department, and the District Attorney's Office. She was frequently called to provide expert witness testimony of fact for Dallas County criminal and civil courts.
Dr. McCracken has worked for Lehman & Associates for over a year and has performed approximately 300 public safety evaluations on a part time basis. She is now working full time with Dr. Lehman in addition to starting her own private practice. She is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD), and Fitness for Duty evaluations. Dr. McCracken participates in several professional organizations including the American Psychological Association and American Group Psychotherapy Association.
